William Miller - Founder

William has over 35 years experience as a television producer and media executive. He started his career in television as a production manager working on factual programmes for the main UK and US television networks then moving on to becoming managing director of the indie, Uden Associates, which in the 90s he grew into one of the biggest factual production companies in the UK. He left in 2000 to join Conde Nast as their Director of Digital launching websites for Vogue, Glamour, CN Traveller & GQ. In 2001 William became Nigella Lawson’s business partner setting up their joint venture, Pabulum Media, which produced her critically acclaimed cooking shows and launched and managed her global brand & retail business. This included the creation of her award winning and best-selling brand and kitchenware collection – Living Kitchen. In 2005 William was bought out of Pabulum and set up Miller Sacher Associates, a consulting business that worked with major retailers around the world to source and develop brands and product ranges around media properties and talent.

In April 2008, William was hired by BBC Worldwide and joined the Content Board where he set up and ran a new talent-focused IP development and strategy division called Talent Ventures. In this role William worked as an entrepreneurial partner for high profile on-screen talent both in the UK and abroad helping them build IP, brands and businesses. Amongst the many projects he worked on were bringing Nigella to both BBC Worldwide and the BBC in-house production business. He secured a new deal for Louis Theroux to produce ten flagship docs for BBC2 over three years as well as an international acclaimed theatrically released feature doc. He also managed BBC Worldwide’s relationship with Channel 4’s top talent, Phil Spencer and Kirstie Allsopp setting them up with their own production company, Raise the Roof Productions, managing the company’s portfolio of rights as well as sitting on their board.

In August 2014 William left BBC Worldwide to set up Raconteur, which has worked as both a content development business and a talent and IP consultancy. Today the company has expanded into drama development and radio/podcast production.

In 2018 William wrote a best-selling memoir of his childhood called Gloucester Crescent: Me, My Dad and Other Grown-Ups which is currently being adapted for TV.
