William Miller - Founder
William is the founder of Raconteur Studios. As well as producing much of the company’s output he can often be heard presenting some of Raconteur’s programmes.
Most of William’s career has been in TV production with over 35 years experience as both a producer and media executive. He started making factual programmes for the main UK and US television networks before becoming, at the age of 25, managing director of the super indie, Uden Associates. Leaving there in 2000 he joined Conde Nast as Director of Digital launching websites for Vogue, Glamour, CN Traveller & GQ. In 2001 William joined forces with Nigella Lawson as her business partner setting up Pabulum Media, which produced her critically acclaimed cooking shows and launched and managed her global retail brand business Living Kitchen. William was eventually bought out of Pabulum and set up a consulting business working with major retailers around the world to source and develop brands and products from media properties and talent.
In 2008 William joined BBC Worldwide and their content board as the Global Head of Talent. Part of this role was to act as an entrepreneurial partner for high profile on-screen talent both in the UK and abroad helping them build IP, brands and businesses. In 2014 William left to set up Raconteur Associates, which works as both a content development business and a talent and IP consultancy. In 2022 William broke into both producing and presenting radio programmes for the BBC and 2024 spun the radio and podcasting business into a stand alone company – Raconteur Studios.
William is also a best-selling author having written his memoir about his childhood called Gloucester Crescent: Me, My Dad and Other Grown-Ups which is currently being adapted for TV.
